I and my husband took a trip to Uganda in Bwindi impenetrable national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, and Lake Mburo national park for gorilla trekking tours and wildlife adventure. We booked through Moses a tour consultant through a company called Nature Adventure Africa Safaris. Moses helped us to book our gorilla permits and pay for our accommodation and all was done perfectly.
Early morning we were picked from Entebbe airport to Lake Mburo national park with a stopover at the equator for pictures and lunch then we proceeded to the park for a game drive with a nice view of zebras, impalas, elephants, birds among others, then in the evening we took a boat cruise on lake Mburo with a nice view of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, birds, which was so wonderful. After the boat cruise we proceeded to Igongo cultural centre, the museum for the Ankole king which had a lot of cultural things and stories to see since the king was formed. There the cultural visit we had to go and rest to our booked accommodation in Mbarara at lake view hotel until the next day.
After breakfast in the morning we drove to queen Elizabeth national park for wildlife and a boat cruise at Kazinga channel which was all quiet a life time experience for us. After lunch we went for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel to view hippos which looked so wonderful, crocodiles, elephants, and birds on the shores of the lake. After boat cruise we took a rest at Mweya safari lodge for dinner and an overnight.
The following day we took a morning game drive viewing variety of wildlife animals like elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs, and many others. In the afternoon we traveled south of the Park Ishasha sector, taking in the sights and looking out for climbing lion’s game as we drove. This scenic drive passes wetlands, crater highlands and forested hills where a diversity of creatures we found. After the game drive we drove to our accommodation Ishasha jungle lodge for dinner and overnight.
Early morning after breakfast we did a morning game drive living the park for our next destination Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered African Mountain Gorillas, along with a rich variety of wild animals, insects and plants. Inhabitants include various other primate species, such as blue and red tailed monkeys.
Early morning breakfast, before meeting up with our official guide from the Uganda Wildlife Authority for a brief on gorilla trekking. Then we embark on the once-in-a-lifetime experience of trekking mountain gorillas in the wild forests of Uganda. We head off into the dense vegetation of Bwindi impenetrable forest, best known for endangered gorilla trekking, which is considered one of the most remarkable wildlife encounters in the world. This gorilla walk can take up to six hours, so a reasonable degree of fitness and a sturdy pair of walking shoes are required. The thrill of encountering these gentle primates in the wild is well worth the sometimes challenging trek through the thick undergrowth.
This rewarding trek through the jungle took us in search of a group of gorillas. Once we found the African Mountain Gorillas we spent some time watching them feed and interact with each other. We got to hear the gorillas communicating with one another and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant adult male gorillas, called Silver backs. Encountering these giant apes is one of Africa’s rarest and most poignant wildlife experiences.
In the afternoon we explored a local community on foot, to gain insight into the ways of the Ugandan people living near Bwindi Park. After our village walk we return to the camp and have a drink together, recounting our unforgettable adventures with the African Mountain Gorillas.
