Planning Gorilla Photo Safaris in Africa

This takes time but it becomes simpler when the photography journey is planned with Nature Adventure Africa Safaris Limited, this can include a wildlife and gorilla photo tours and this is all useful. I decided to engage in various discussions with Moses which involved trying to get more clarifications about the exceptional parks where we could conduct a nice photography.

From the advice we got from Moses, he encouraged us to perform the activity from Uganda whereby we were to visit Bwindi impenetrable, Kibale Forest and Murchison Falls National Park both in the western Uganda.

This was to take us seven day, the exercise was expensive but we had a nice experience within Uganda under the guidance of Moses. We were sent the estimated budget and we paid for the requirements before our arrival to Uganda.

On the first day we were picked from the airport and we spent the evening from Airport view hotel. The second day we embarked into our land cruiser and we traveled to the west via Masaka up to the Buhoma sector where we were to track the Oruzogo gorilla group. We slept at Silver Back Lodge. On the third day we entered the forest to search for the gorillas with our guides, so interesting was that, already there was some spotters who searched for them before our start.

This took us few hours to see them since  we were called at the area where they had spotted them, the ball was left in our hands to take photos as much as we could this was our first time to see the silver back gorillas with their silvered hairy backs. As we completed our activity for a full hour we went back to the lodge for an overnight, on the fourth day we traveled to Kibale Forest National Park for chimps trekking.

We used strictly 5hours on the way to primate safari lodge where we had lunch from, this is where we were even to sleep. We stored our items and after lunch we went to the park head quarters as we were to track at exactly 2pm. We were taken through the cautions and we started our trek, since this park is renowned for its abundance in chimps compared to other parks.

We took few hours to see the chimps, at 5pm we were already done with taking photos, we also got a chance to see the most stubborn baboons that were seated in our ways waiting for grabbing eats, we utilized this chance also to take photos as they were making jokes around with tactics in the same way with the black and white Colobus monkeys that were peeping on us. This was too exciting and in the evening we went back to the lodge for an overnight as we waited for our next day’s travel.

On the fifth day we went to Murchison falls national park to experience the wilderness this park keeps, the park is located in the northern Uganda but at this moment we passed through Hoima – Masindi road to the park, here we rested at Paraa lodge where we rested, we swimmed from the pool in the hotel as others were busy taking beers from the bar within the lodge. The sixth day we went for briefing but here were urged to do a game drive. Our driver was well conversant with the park.

He drove us to all the areas where he believed to have the all the wildlife, we got a chance to see at least the four out of five big animals within this park, we took photos of lions, leopard, elephants and buffaloes, other animals we saw and took photos included the reed bucks, warthogs, and some antelopes plus the Uganda Kobs. More interesting was that in the evening we were taken to the Murchison falls which was formed by the speedy flowing waters of river Nile.

Here we observed the crocodiles and the flocks of hippos that were yearning as if they were too hungry; this was too interesting since we took photos that we required in plenty not until our films got filled. In the evening we went back to the lodge for swimming and also had a rest at the garden as we took our beers and some roasted meet until midnight when we slept.

The next day in the morning after tea we were taken back to Kampala via Nakasongola and this took us 5hours, we had our lunch from Entebbe town as we kept on waiting for our departure at Entebbe international airport. This was a wonderful photography holiday with Nature Adventure Africa Safaris Limited and we hope to go back to Uganda for more experience.
